BACK IN BLACK!!!

Okay so back in black, white, blue, and red, but still back!!! I haven't blogged in about half a year and I've realized lately how much I really miss it. So I'm going to try my best to stick it out for much longer! And to celebrate my re-emergence (lol) I've posted this outfit.
What I'm Wearing:  High waisted vintage Levis that I cut and shredded myself, cropped black and white leather jacket from Ross (secret store), black tank top, black braided belt, and red bandana. Complete with red lips & cat eyes!!!

I really love this vintage, edgy American vintage look. Anyone can try it out!!! Be prepared to turn heads :)

STYLE ICON OF THE WEEK: Leighton Meester

So, I know this isn't a very recent pic of Leighton Meester's style, but I find it so iconic and high fashion. I love how Leighton's style is insanely risky and daring, yet she works it off every time. Compared to her prim and proper Upper East Side Blair Waldorf classic prep girl look, the actress' look is reckless in an endearing, classy way. It seems like she's able to pull off any type of look. She's done high fashion couture, but also pulls off the laid back city girl act. Her fearless style is something everyone should look up to.

cheetahs & dreamcatchers

Just thought I'd share with you guys the gifts a few of my friends got me for Christmas! I loooove getting late Christmas gifts!

1. My best friend got me this pair of Havianas. I love them! I feel like they're so... me haha! I love cheetah print, I own like a billion things with this pattern. I don't think it'll ever go out of style! I cannnnot wait to wear these out this weekend (:

2. These are a pair of earrings my friend Alixes got me from Forever 21 (obviously). I love them so much I cannot put it into words.... I love that they fall into my hair, they're so long!

3. She also got all of my friends and I a dream catcher each. Each one is different, which I find so cool. No bad dreams for me!

4. My beautiful friend Cina got me this shirt, along with a few other items. It's so beautiful! It's white with a silver beaded collar. My favorite part though is the layer of beads in the back!

5. Cina also got me this Victoria's Secret body spray in the sent of Seductive Amber. I'm telling you now, you must go buy this scent. It's too die for. So sweet and just.. yummy.

6. My aunt got this perfume for me. It's Betsey Johnson, whom I just LOVE. I love every eccentric little piece of her. I also love this fragrance. The smell isn't super floral and sweet, but it's strong and loud. I like that, almost as much as I love the bottle! Hahah.

7. This is yet another gift from my best friend! As you can see, it's cheetah print again haha. It's like a jewelry/makeup organizer and has all these little pockets in different shapes. There's a hook, so you can hang it wherever. I'm soon hanging it near my mirror to store my jewelry and whatnot in it. Thank God for more storage space.

Hope you enjoyed everything. The style icon of the week will be coming up, and I'm taking suggestions. So go for it!!

textbook education

Okay so for some reason, the picture uploader doesn't give the option of x-large anymore. So now my pictures will be disproportionate... If anyone knows a way around this please let me know! Anyways, sorry I have not posted in a few days! Today will be filled with posts! This first one features a few books I wanted to share with you all. They're all fashion related of course! Two are actually books I've had a while now, and three I've just gotten very recently.
The purple one is an Anna Sui sketchbook, made especially for fashion sketches. I haven't filled it up yet, but I'm working on it slowly but surely! I've been having designer's block haha! I really like the little illustrations scattered throughout the book, plus the various pattern pages that give style inspiration. The second book is a makeup tutorial book written by Lauren Luke, a woman who started out doing tutorials on youtube. Eventually she became well known, especially for her Leona Lewis smokey eye. Now she has her own makeup line sold at Sephora and, obviously, makeup tutorial books. The book is full of celebrity makeup looks, which she then transforms into her own look. I've gone to this book a million times in search of makeup inspiration! I highly recommend it if you're searching for makeup advice. It's straightforward and simple, and even has a section on contouring, which I always loooove practicing.

Ahhh. Now for my Sephora book :D This book is genius. It covers every single aspect of makeup, from how to do a smokey eye to how to make your decolletage appear more shapely, which is just.. magic hahaha. It's also the best book to use as reference when makeup shopping. It tells you exactly what classic products you need, designer or not. This Beauty Bible even contains various tips for healthy beauty tips, like how to get more sleep and what not. There's a section with 100 beauty product must haves, such as NARS' Dolce Vita lipstick and Duwop's Lip Venom. As if that was not enough, there's a whole section that's a guide to every single makeup brush ever known. There's so much more I could say about this book, but you're just going to have to find out for yourself!!!
This second book is a Seventeen Magazine book. It's an "ultimate guide to style" and features various looks including girly, edgy, classic, glam, indie, and boho. I really love it! Each category has a chapter and each chapter contains the basic items you need to fall under that look, as well as a celebrity and an average girl who serve as that category's role model. There's an accessories, swimsuit, and underwear guide as well. You'll love it for sure! I look at the lookbook in each chapter whenever I have no clue what to wear and it seems like I own no clothes at all!

This last book is another makeup book. It was actually published in 1999, by the famous, iconic makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin, may his lovely soul rest in peace. The book is just pure genius. It's a makeup bible! There's a basic section that elaborates extensively on how to apply every type of makeup, such as foundation, bronzer, blush, mascara, etc. The bronzing and highlighting section is just... it's awesome. My favorite part of the book is a section titled "Great Looks" which features various classic roles we see throughout the media, such as the Bombshell, the Heroine, the Gamine, etc. Each look has a complete guide as to how to get that look, the example modeled on celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Drew Berrymore, and Marilyn Monroe. This is newest go to book for makeup advice. I think it'll stay that way for a while!

new year, new stuff

Both boots are from Nine West & bought on sale! Ballet flats are (obviously) from Forever 21 and were a Christmas gift. So far I've worn the fur lined boots a few times, which is great since I live on a tropical island. Most people are like, what the hell is she doing it's like 90 degrees and she's wearing boots. But if it's one thing fashion lovers know it's that beauty is pain! I could care less about being stared at for wearing boots to the mall. If anything, they're stares of admiration and envy that I actually pull off the damn thing. So, advice to all you fashionistas out there: If you wanna wear it, wear it. If it reflects what you want to reveal about your attitude, so be it. Don't let lame old simple people who buy clothes out of "sensibility" tell you otherwise. No pain, no gain!
I've worn my newest pair, the top combat boots, once only. I wore it with my black tights, black mini body con skirt, and a tribal print open back crop top. I wish I had a picture, but at the time I didn't have my memory card and only my crappy Blackberry camera! But anyways, I've already stormed up a lot of outfits that would go perfectly together. Trust me, on Guam, a rock in the middle of the Pacific, boots are a big thing. The usual footwear here is... well, flip flops. Considering that, my next purchase is even more of an anomaly on this island!
So this vest is Material Girl, Madonna and her daughter's line sold in Macy's. It's honestly the best thing that ever happened to Macy's, and pretty much the only reason I go there except for MAC. Maybe. The vest is leather and fur lined, which will totally make me sweat till my hair falls out, but so what. You gotta pay to look hot, right? I can't wait to wear this thing.

happy new year!!!

Happy New Year to our new followers! Thank you so much for the follows! We sincerely hope you stick around. Also, that you are the start of the many followers to come! Hope you all have a great new year!!!
