Okay so for some reason, the picture uploader doesn't give the option of x-large anymore. So now my pictures will be disproportionate... If anyone knows a way around this please let me know! Anyways, sorry I have not posted in a few days! Today will be filled with posts! This first one features a few books I wanted to share with you all. They're all fashion related of course! Two are actually books I've had a while now, and three I've just gotten very recently.
The purple one is an Anna Sui sketchbook, made especially for fashion sketches. I haven't filled it up yet, but I'm working on it slowly but surely! I've been having designer's block haha! I really like the little illustrations scattered throughout the book, plus the various pattern pages that give style inspiration. The second book is a makeup tutorial book written by Lauren Luke, a woman who started out doing tutorials on youtube. Eventually she became well known, especially for her Leona Lewis smokey eye. Now she has her own makeup line sold at Sephora and, obviously, makeup tutorial books. The book is full of celebrity makeup looks, which she then transforms into her own look. I've gone to this book a million times in search of makeup inspiration! I highly recommend it if you're searching for makeup advice. It's straightforward and simple, and even has a section on contouring, which I always loooove practicing.
Ahhh. Now for my Sephora book :D This book is genius. It covers every single aspect of makeup, from how to do a smokey eye to how to make your decolletage appear more shapely, which is just.. magic hahaha. It's also the best book to use as reference when makeup shopping. It tells you exactly what classic products you need, designer or not. This Beauty Bible even contains various tips for healthy beauty tips, like how to get more sleep and what not. There's a section with 100 beauty product must haves, such as NARS' Dolce Vita lipstick and Duwop's Lip Venom. As if that was not enough, there's a whole section that's a guide to every single makeup brush ever known. There's so much more I could say about this book, but you're just going to have to find out for yourself!!!
This second book is a Seventeen Magazine book. It's an "ultimate guide to style" and features various looks including girly, edgy, classic, glam, indie, and boho. I really love it! Each category has a chapter and each chapter contains the basic items you need to fall under that look, as well as a celebrity and an average girl who serve as that category's role model. There's an accessories, swimsuit, and underwear guide as well. You'll love it for sure! I look at the lookbook in each chapter whenever I have no clue what to wear and it seems like I own no clothes at all!
This last book is another makeup book. It was actually published in 1999, by the famous, iconic makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin, may his lovely soul rest in peace. The book is just pure genius. It's a makeup bible! There's a basic section that elaborates extensively on how to apply every type of makeup, such as foundation, bronzer, blush, mascara, etc. The bronzing and highlighting section is just... it's awesome. My favorite part of the book is a section titled "Great Looks" which features various classic roles we see throughout the media, such as the Bombshell, the Heroine, the Gamine, etc. Each look has a complete guide as to how to get that look, the example modeled on celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Drew Berrymore, and Marilyn Monroe. This is newest go to book for makeup advice. I think it'll stay that way for a while!
